Automate 2025 Highlights: Physical AI and Full-Stack Automation

May 16, 2025 | Harshad

At Automate 2025, Vention delivered a clear message: Physical AI is already here and ready to make manufacturing faster, more efficient than ever before. Vention’s new AI-based Bin Picking Demo powered by all new MachineMotion AI was definitely the highlight of the show and was even featured in the keynote address by Deepu Talla of NVIDIA Robotics.

From powerful AI-ready solutions to rapidly deployable automation and thought leadership, Automate 2025 had a lot to offer. Here’s a recap of all the action from the show.

Physical AI in Action: AI Bin Picking and MachineMotion AI

After a strong debut at NVIDIA GTC, Vention’s AI-based Bin Picking solution was a showstopper at Automate as well. The demos at Vention’s booth and during the joint session with NVIDIA’s Yichao Pan highlighted the solution’s real-time part recognition, object pose and grasp processing, and robot motion planning — all powered by Vention’s MachineMotion AI and foundational models from NVIDIA.

Powered by the NVIDIA Jetson GPU and NVIDIA Isaac™ CUDA-accelerated libraries and models, MachineMotion AI is equipped with the processing power necessary for compute-intensive AI tasks like real-time vision processing and autonomous decision-making for applications like bin picking, machine operating, kitting, and other common manufacturing tasks

MachineMotion AI allows advanced AI workloads directly at the machine level, enabling real-time control of robots, sensors, conveyors, and vision systems without the need for external computing or bulky control cabinets.

At Vention’s booth, MachineMotion AI’s versatility was on full display, powering four of the five demos from Vention. With the ability to output 3000 Watts and daisy-chain multiple motors, MachineMotion AI demos showcased its simplicity and cost saving potential of using a scalable controller. The integrated cellular LTE connectivity in MachineMotion AI also caught the attention of visitors looking for a more modern approach to equipment monitoring and management.

MachineBuilder™ 101: Vention’s New Course for Robotics Fundamentals

MachineBuilder101

As automation becomes central to manufacturing, there’s a growing need for certified robotics practitioners. Identifying this need to create a reliable pathway to upskill the workforce, Vention launched MachineBuilder™ 101, Vention’s first-ever online robotics certification at Automate 2025. Aimed at students, educators, and manufacturing professionals, this affordable course ($40 USD) offers fundamentals of designing with the world’s only unified software and hardware platform.

Hands-On Demo of Vention’s End-to-End Automation Solutions

At this year’s event, visitors to Vention’s booth experienced the full-stack automation experience that combines intuitive software and modular, scalable hardware. Attendees explored how to design and simulate a digital twin, deploy and operate automation solutions with ease using components from Vention and our growing network of partners.

A standout feature at Vention’s booth this year were fully integrated, customizable work cells that showcased real-world applications. Part of Vention’s ‘Click and Customize’ family of solutions, these rapidly deployable solutions are making automation faster, and simpler. Application demos at the booth included welding, machine tending, and the Rapid Series Palletizer.

Click & Customize Welding

Back by popular demand, Vention showcased the overhead 7th-axis range extender in a high-performance setup, powering four motors and a robot. The demo offered a closer look at Vention’s flexible, ‘Click & Customize - Robotic Welding’ solution. The long-range motion of the overhead range extender offers multiple advantages for use cases such as welding large or long parts or operating in confined spaces.

Click & Customize Machine Tending

As manufacturers face labor shortages, the ability to deploy custom solutions faster is more important than ever before. Vention’s machine tending demo at automate highlighted the powerful combination — flexibility of a customization paired with high ROI of a pre-engineered solution.

The fully configurable setup featuring user selection of the base design, robot (compatible with ABB, FANUC, and Universal Robots), gripper, part presenter, and safety add-ons showcased how manufacturers can get a tailored system — without the custom price or lead time.

Vention’s Rapid Series Palletizer

Rapid Series Palletizer Automate

The Rapid Series demos at Automate highlighted the versatility of Vention’s cobot palletizer to handle a wide range of objects such as bags and pails, making it a great fit for manufacturers searching for palletizing solutions that go beyond boxes. The demo setup at the show featured a telescopic column for all pallet heights, optimized with newly released MachineApp 4.5 software for smarter deployment and operations.

  • Custom Layout: Effortless pallet configuration with clear visualization (label visualization, multi-pick, etc.)
  • Multi-Level Access: Password protection and customizable restrictions by user level
  • Four Languages: Now available in English, Spanish, French, and German
  • External Interface: Connect with external devices and PLCs via Ethernet I/P and MQTT

Remote Support

Visitors got a hands-on experience of real-time troubleshooting on Vention’s pendant’s built-in ‘Face-to-Face’ feature, where Vention’s Customer Success team can resolve issues remotely within a few minutes.

Vention’s Thought Leadership at Automate

Keynote Address at Automate 2025

Keynote Address by Vention’s CEO Etienne Lacroix

Vention’s presence at Automate Show 2025 wasn’t just about showcasing technology—it was about shaping the conversation around the future of industrial automation. CEO Etienne Lacroix kicked off the week with a keynote outlining four key breakthroughs—platforming and productization, digital twin and physical AI, open-source knowledge sharing similar to the software industry, and sub-one-year ROI.

Etienne explains how labor shortages and competition is driving automation demand. This is also likely to make it easier and more affordable to scale automation. We are very close to a tipping point in robotics where adoption will no longer be limited to large enterprises.

“The robot cell of the future will simply cost less. There’s less stuff to build, less sensors, less jigs and fixtures. Affordability and payback below one year will be the unlock moment that will let small and medium manufacturers automate more effectively.”
- Etienne Lacroix, CEO, Vention

Vention & NVIDIA Robotics Collaborative Session

Vention Thought Leadership Automate

In a collaborative session with NVIDIA Robotics, Vention’s François Giguère, Jimmy Li, and Yichao Pan demonstrated how MachineMotion AI, combined with NVIDIA’s Isaac™ platform, is powering real-time applications like zero-shot bin picking and adaptive part handling—bringing Physical AI into practical, scalable use.

Five Takeaways from the Session
𝟭. AI is unlocking the next generation of industrial autonomy.
𝟮. Vention’s MachineMotion AI is built for scale.
𝟯. No training required—upload a 3D model, and FoundationPose with FoundationStereo enables zero-shot bin picking of new parts for agile production lines.
𝟰. Collision-free automation is now real-time with cuMotion.
𝟱. Physical AI is ready to replace thousands of low-skill, repetitive tasks.

The thought leadership continued across Vention’s dedicated Speaker Space, where Vention’s leadership team, including Brendan Sterne, Alex Koepsel, Sarah Webster, and Cedric Robinson, shared practical insights on getting started with automation, scaling operations, and navigating the impact of AI.

Where to See Vention’s Solutions Next
