Vention at Automatica 2025: AI and High-Precision Robotics

July 10, 2025 | Harshad

At Automatica 2025, Vention put the spotlight on intelligent, accessible automation. Amongst show top highlights : the announcement of the collaboration with Franka Robotics, supporting our education and research clientele and the AI-based bin picking that was unveiled earlier at NVIDIA GTC 2025. Vention also introduced its AI-ready MachineMotion AI controller to the European market, along with flexible palletizing systems and a seventh-axis range extender—demonstrating the growing versatility of the FastFactory™ hardware ecosystem.

Here’s a quick look at the top highlights from Automatica 2025.

Vention and Franka Research 3 (FR3) Join Hands to Enable Cobot Research

Franka Robotics Joins Vention's Platform

Vention’s robotics portfolio took a major leap forward with the integration of the Franka Research 3 (FR3) collaborative robot, widely recognized for its precision and dexterity in research and academic settings. The addition of FR3 enables universities, innovation hubs, and R&D teams already using Vention’s modular platform to access a high-performance robot built for delicate and complex tasks. The capability of the FR3 to handle fine-motor operations was on full display at Automatica.

A live PCB testing demo showcased how researchers and advanced manufacturers can design and deploy robotic applications for sensitive electronics testing safely and efficiently, without the need for dedicated automation engineering resources. By combining Vention’s plug-and-play hardware ecosystem with Franka’s precise manipulation, institutions can accelerate prototyping, training, and validation in fields ranging from electronics to soft robotics.

AI-Powered Part Picking with ABB GoFa

Bin Picking Automation

Another standout from Automatica was Vention’s AI-driven bin picking application, built on the ABB GoFa CRB 15000 and powered by MachineMotion™ AI, NVIDIA Jetson, and CUDA-accelerated NVIDIA Isaac models. The system demonstrated sub-millimeter picking accuracy as it identified and sorted unstructured parts, without requiring custom programming or AI training.

As explained in the NVIDIA developer blog, factories looking to boost productivity and resilience through automation now have a nimble way to deploy automation with AI foundation models. Tasks that once demanded extensive integration and expert knowledge can now be deployed in real production environments using just CAD files and pre-trained models.

MachineMotion™ AI: One Controller, Full Stack Intelligence

MachineMotion™ AI, Vention’s AI-ready controller, served as the common platform for all the demos at Vention’s booth. Built for the computing needs of AI-driven robotics, MachineMotion AI unifies motion control, vision processing, sensing, and AI in a single compact unit—with built-in LTE connectivity to enable flexible, untethered deployments. To help manufacturers adopt it faster, each unit includes a three-month LTE trial, enabling immediate out-of-the-box connectivity and deployment.
By consolidating these core robotic functions into one controller, Vention dramatically reduces deployment complexity. Teams no longer need to manage multiple systems for motion, vision, and logic. The result is a cleaner integration path, faster time to production, and a significantly lower learning curve.

Rapid Series Palletizer and Machine App 4.5

At Automatica 2025, Vention showcased the Rapid Series Palletizer, a flexible solution designed for small-to-medium production runs that typically struggle to justify traditional automation. Powered by the UR10e from Universal Robots and fully integrated with Vention’s MachineMotion controller and cloud software, the system enables operators to set up palletizing routines in just minutes through a no-code interface. Live demos illustrated how the Rapid Series easily handles boxes, bags, and pails—making automation simpler, more adaptable, and capable of delivering ROI within a year.

What sets the Rapid Series apart is its intuitive Machine App 4.5, which now includes custom pallet layouts, multi-user access with password protection, and multilingual support (English, French, Spanish, and German). With support for industrial protocols like Ethernet I/P and MQTT, the system is built to scale globally without disrupting existing infrastructure—bringing powerful, user-friendly palletizing to manufacturers of all sizes.

More Reach, More Flexibility: Vention’s Range Extender in Action

Maximizing flexibility without increasing footprint is a growing priority for manufacturers, especially in high-mix, low-volume environments. At Automatica 2025, Vention showcased how its Range Extender (7th Axis) system can enhance cobot capabilities.

The demo featured a FANUC CRX-10iA collaborative robot mounted on Vention’s Range Extender, which moved effortlessly between multiple workstations to perform machine tending, assembly, and packaging tasks. Controlled through MachineLogic’s no-code interface, the setup showed how a single robot can cover more ground and handle diverse jobs without complex programming or extra equipment.
